The Ministry of Works and Transport is undertaking the construction of the Okatana-Amutanga-Omulathitu-Onamime gravel road.
The gravel road will enable surrounding communities access to health care services and education facilities, especially during the rainy season.
The Executive Director of the Namibian National Association of the Deaf, Paul Nanyeni, has described the initiative by the police to continuously learn basic sign language as commendable.
This comes after about 30 officers attended a five-day basic sign language course at Rundu recently.
The Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security started with its outreach programme for the distribution of national documents in the Kavango East Region.
The programme aims to issue a national document to people in outlying areas who face challenges travelling to Rundu for services.
