The Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy (MIME), Modestus Amutse, has reiterated the government's aim to ensure 70% of the country's citizens have access to electricity by 2030. 

The residents of Thipanana Village in the Kavango East Region assert that they are not receiving any benefits from the rural electrification project.

The villagers claim that NamPower wrongly diverted the electrification project to another village. 

Eight households at Blouwes village in the ||Kharas Region have been connected to the national electricity grid.
