The Namibian Society of Composers and Authors of Music (NASCAM), in collaboration with the Business and Intellectual Property Authority (BIPA), has launched a copyright perception survey aimed at raising awareness about the importance of understanding and respecting copyright laws.

The Business and Intellectual Property Authority (BIPA) Aina Kaunda says it is reviewing the current intellectual property legislation to address issues of digital piracy that the creative industry faces. 

The Chief Executive Officer of the Namibian Society of Composers and Authors of Music, NASCAM, Albert Nicanor, has issued a warning against broadcasters that fail to pay their royalties.

The society is currently working on renegotiating standardized licenses for all broadcasters.
