The Chairperson of the Southern African Regional Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (SARPCCO) has called for political support from governments across the region to strengthen the fight against transnational organised crime.
The SADC Chiefs of Police Sub-Committee will be meeting in Dar es Salaam from tomorrow until Friday for the Annual General Meeting.
The meeting will focus on tackling transnational organised crime throughout the region.
Two men, Andreas Akwaake (53) and Immanuel Iipinge (39), were arrested in Noordoewer on March 28 for being in possession of N$725,000 in cash.
The suspects appeared before the Karasburg Magistrate's Court last week and were subsequently denied bail.
