Otjinene Constituency Councillor Eben-ezer Kauapirura has highlighted the need to create a better understanding of the living conditions, needs and challenges faced by people with disabilities.
  

The Mayor of Lüderitz, Brigitte Fredericks, has called for a more inclusive Namibia, where persons with disabilities are empowered and fully integrated into society.

She made this appeal during the opening of the National Disability Week in Lüderitz.

Vice President Lucia Witbooi engaged with disability centres in the Zambezi Region to promote inclusivity.

The Vice President visited the Mainstream Foundation, an organisation founded by parents of disabled children in 2008.

The Commemoration of World Albinism Day is underway at Nkurenkuru in the Kavango West Region. 

The day is commemorated under the theme "Demanding our Right, Protecting our Skin and Preserving our Lives".
