The Namibian Police Force has urged the public to be patient and allow for thorough investigations into the culpable homicide case involving the Inspector General, Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo.

The investigations into the head-on collision involving the Inspector General of the Namibian Police Force in which three people died, are still ongoing.

The Namibian Police did not show up on Friday for the NIMT Northern Campus employees' demonstration in Tsumeb.

However, this did not stop the employees from marching to NIMT to hand over their petition in relation to their unpaid December salaries.

The Namibia Police (NamPol) has also been on the ground assessing the flood situation in Ohangwena Region, which is advancing towards the Oshana Region.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of his five-year-old stepson, Wilfred Dantani Eiseb, at Walvis Bay.

NamPol's Deputy Inspector General, Major General Elias Mutota, has urged holidaymakers to alert police officers in their jurisdiction when they travel.

General Mutota did some legwork at the Okapuka roadblock, where he also emphasized the increase in house break-ins during the festive season.

NamPol's Inspector General has launched the festive season crime prevention campaign in the Kavango East Region.

Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo said the patrol, which is part of the crime prevention campaign, was also due to the rising cases of criminal activities in the Kavango East Region.
