Stakeholders in ||Kharas Region have voiced diverse views of the draft National Upstream Petroleum Policy aimed at shaping the future of the emerging oil and gas industry. 

The Upstream Petroleum Unit under the Office of the President held the consultation in Keetmanshoop.

The Governor of ||Kharas, Dawid Gertze, has urged the inhabitants to use the region's profile report as a tool for making informed decisions and investment planning. 

He made the call while launching the region's profile, released by the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) at Keetmanshoop. 

Unoccupied farms in ||Kharas drop to 11 over past decade

The number of unoccupied farms in the ||Kharas Region has been reduced from over 30 to eleven over the past 10 years. 

This was revealed by the Deputy Director in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform, Albertus Engelbrecht.

The University of Namibia (UNAM)'s Southern Campus celebrated the annual cultural festival in style, showcasing unity in diversity. 

A parade through the streets of Keetmanshoop signalled the opening of the three-day cultural festival held under the theme 'Connecting Cultures, Building Unity'. 

Keetmanshoop siblings' case postponed to November

The Keetmanshoop Magistrate's Court has postponed the case of three suspects, George Cloete, his wife Charmaine, and his brother Bino Cloete, to the 4th of November to allow for further investigations. 

Suiderlig fundraiser raises over N$800K for hostel upgrade

The Keetmanshoop-based Suiderlig Secondary School's fundraising dinner has raised more than N$800,000 for the renovation and expansion of the school hostel. 

Vice President Lucia Witbooi, an alumna of the school, was the guest of honour.
