Business leaders paid tribute to Namibia's late leader for his major role in helping to bring Namibia's economy to growth.

The Institute for Public Policy and Research (IPPR), led by Executive Director Graham Hopwood, is calling on Namibia to join the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). This global standard aims to promote openness and accountability in sectors like mining, oil, gas, and other natural resources.

The mine operates a few kilometres outside Uis, under the Daure Daman Traditional Authority in the Erongo Region.

Community and conservancy members at Uis in the Erongo Region are accusing Xinfeng Investments of illegal mining.
