More concerted efforts to scale up women's participation in peacebuilding processes are urgently needed in Africa.

International Relations Minister Peya Mushelenga has called on governments to allocate resources for the implementation of programmes that support women's inclusion.

Ethiopia has allocated an additional piece of land for free to Namibia to construct an ambassadorial residence in the capital, Addis Ababa.

However, no development has taken place on the plot so far.

The Namibian Embassy is currently in talks to start the construction.

Namibia is making progress toward the African Union target of investing 1% of its gross domestic product (GDP) in research and experimental development.

The African Union has set up a youth wing as part of an organ known as the Panel of the Wise, which aims to curb issues of conflict, instability, and violence through dialogue and mediation in all countries.

The Chairperson of the African Union says Africa must create wealth amongst its people as a tool to curb foreign aid and stimulate peace.

Moussa Faki Mahamat says the need to embrace African ideas on issues facing the continent is also critical to attaining transformation across all spheres of life.
