The armed robbery and assault suspect, Nujoma Tobias, was denied bail following his first appearance in the Katima Mulilo Magistrates' Court after being arrested in connection with an incident at Mafuta in the Zambezi Region.
The case of six suspects charged with the murder and conspiracy to murder of the late Control Prosecutor Justine Shiweda has been postponed to 8 April 2026.
The accused will remain in custody until then, when a bail hearing date for accused 6, Fillemon Nakanduungile, will be set.
Magistrate Wilka Amalwa has granted bail of N$10,000 to Rehoboth drug accused Naomi Fisch
Fisch was warned not to interfere with police investigations and not to leave the Rehoboth district without written permission from the investigating officer.
Detective Inspector Pendukeni Nghuluwa took the witness stand to oppose bail for Naomi Fisch, describing her as a well-known drug dealer in Rehoboth.
Nghuluwa stated that Fisch has a history of arrests and currently has a pending drug case.
Court proceedings in the Rehoboth drug case continued on Friday.
One of the co-accused of Naomi Fisch, Menschel Beukes, testified in favour of Fisch and said he wants justice for her.
Naomi Fisch told the court that her boyfriend and co-accused, Steven Schneider, is a senior general in a gang known as the 28s. She also said she is aware that he has three previous convictions.
Schneider was released last year in June after serving a murder conviction.
The appeal against the refusal of bail for the NAMCOR corruption accused persons will be heard in the Windhoek High Court from 14 to 16 January.
The appeal is against a magistrate’s refusal to grant bail.
Justice Philanda Christiaan and Justice Eileen Rakow will hear the matter.
