The outgoing Erongo Regional Council Chairperson, Benita Imbamba, has urged the Council to guide and mentor incoming councillors after next week's Regional Councils and Local Authorities elections.

She delivered her final statement as chairperson during a council meeting in Swakopmund.

Imbamba highlighted key achievements made by the Erongo Regional Council, including the completion of a new settlement office building in Uis.

"A new building housing our settlement office in Uis was constructed and is now ready to host a new village councillor and council after the 26 November election."

She also pointed to the new pilot Constituency Development Fund model aimed at improving service delivery and reducing unemployment.

"The administration will, in the coming year, be conducting a study to assess its effectiveness and explore ways to ensure efficiency and swift delivery of items equally, and an assessment will be done on whether CDF is improving the livelihoods of our citizens."

Imbamba thanked the Chief Regional Officer, Mupenzeni Ntelamo, and the regional councillors for their hard work and dedication, encouraging them to continue being united.

"To the honourable councillors and members of this house, thank you for your hard work, dedication and commitment. Encourage you to continue taking hands with those who will join our offices in the new term, guide them, mentor them and stand together for the betterment of our region."
