Namibia has recorded six cases of trafficking in persons between June 2024 and June this year.

This was shared during the commemoration of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons held at Rundu.

50-year-old woman arrested for attempted murder in Otjiwarongo

A 50-year-old Namibian woman has been arrested for attempted murder in Otjiwarongo after seriously injuring a man by stabbing him last night.

The incident occurred around 22:30 at a house believed to be the suspect's residence.

A senior citizen, 72-year-old Julius Hengombe, was found hanging from a wire under a tree at the Ojikango Ekwenya village in the Otjozondjpa Region. No suicide note was found.

Rehoboth tops the list of drug busts over the Easter weekend.

A 27-year-old man was arrested at Rehoboth after he was found in possession of four full and one-quarter Mandrax tablets, valued at N$550. 

CRIME REPORT | Baby drowns in a bucket

A 16-month-old baby died after he allegedly drowned in a bucket.

The baby was left in the house with a 9-year-old minor at the time of the incident.

His body has been transported to the Okahao police mortuary for an autopsy.
