A 95-year-old man, Kilus Hishongwa, from Onekwaya West in the Endola Constituency of the Ohangwena Region, was allegedly murdered this morning by his 35-year-old grandson, who lived with him.

The Oshikoto Region has experienced significant damage to homes and mahangu fields due to heavy rain and flooding from neighboring Angola.

According to Oshikoto Governor Sacky Kathindi, the constituencies of Oniipa, Olukonda, Omuntele, and Onayena have been particularly hard hit.

The Roads Authority has announced that it will spend N$230 million to fix damaged road sections in the northern regions of Oshana, Ohangwena, Oshikoto, Omusati, and Kunene.

The government continues to make strides in assisting those severely affected by the recent floods.

The Oshana and Kunene Regions have also made strides in airlifting food and medical personnel to assist those who have been cut off by the floodwaters.

The Roads Authority (RA) says it will spend N$230 million to restore damaged roads in the four northern regions of Oshana, Ohangwena, Oshikoto, Omusati and Kunene. 

Donations have started trickling in for the two centres at Onamhinda A and B in the Ohangwena Region, where over 200 people have been temporarily relocated from their homes following heavy flooding.

The Governor of the Oshana Region, Elia Irimari, says roads in the region have been damaged by floodwaters following heavy rains, proving a hazard to motorists. 

The Kunene Region has been severely affected by the massive inflow of water following heavy rains over the past few weeks, with residents in both urban and rural areas seriously affected.

Food aid and medical personnel have been deployed to the Oshana Region, where residents are cut off from essential services due to flooding.

The NDF's Alouette III helicopter will transport aid to affected communities in Oshana, Ohangwena, Omusati, and the western part of Oshikoto.

Authorities in the Oshikoto Region arrested a 44-year-old man from Onyaanya village for allegedly raping his 14-year-old daughter.

The suspect reportedly called his daughter into his room and raped her. He was caught in the act.
