President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is in the Zambezi Region ahead of the Masubia Cultural Festival celebration, which will take place at the Royal Establishment in Bukalo on Saturday.

The Minister of Urban and Rural Development, James Sankwasa, has been on a supervisory visit in the Zambezi Region to review the progress on various developmental projects aimed at improving housing, infrastructure, and service provision, particularly in Bukalo and Katima Mulilo.

Zambezi Police Regional Commander Commissioner Julia Sakuwa-Neo held her maiden engagement with the business sector on Tuesday.

The meeting was aimed at information sharing in order to find solutions to ongoing crime that targets their businesses. 

The Zambezi Governor, Dorothy Kabula, is concerned about delays in the implementation of the One Stop Border Post initiative as well as unresolved operation challenges at the Kalimbeza Rice Project.

These projects hold economic potential for the country at large and the people of the region.

Isuswa Junior Primary School in the Katima Mulilo rural constituency is one of the many under-developed schools in the Zambezi Region.

For over 39 years, the school functioned with limited basic resources.

The NamPort Social Investment Fund has funded the construction of an administration block at Muketela Primary School in the Sibbinda Constituency at a cost of N$1.1 million.

The fund has been in existence for 19 years and has allocated more than N$100 million to projects across all 14 regions.

The Zambezi Region honoured top-performing teachers and learners for their results in the 2025 national examinations.

The Patron of Nakabolelwa Combined School in the Zambezi Region, Shakwa Nyambe, donated 82 tables and 76 chairs to the school worth over N$63,000.

Nyambe said the donation is aimed at improving the learning environment.

Titus Sheehama, who was arrested when the police intercepted a truck loaded with contraband on Sunday, appeared in the Katima Mulilo Magistrate Court.

The office of the First Gentleman has launched its first engagement on "The Plight of the Boy Child" in the Zambezi region.

Speaking at the engagement, the First Gentleman Epaphras Ndaitwah said the call is for the boy child to be resilient in their educational pursuits.
