NAPPA proposes temporary electricity levy to cut consumer costs

The Namibia Progressive Party (NAPPA) says it plans to introduce a temporary electricity levy meant to reduce costs for consumers.

Co-founder Penda Negonga made the announcement during a press conference in Windhoek, ahead of the Regional Councils and Local Authorities elections.  

Tragic shooting in Windhoek West leaves two dead

On Monday, a man in Windhoek West opened fire on his girlfriend and her male acquaintance before taking his own life.

This incident, which shocked the community, resulted in two fatalities and left a third person injured.

Plans are underway to reopen the Tsumis Arid Zone Agricultural College (TAZAC) at Tsumis Park in the Hardap Region.

This comes after Hardap Governor Rian McNab submitted a proposal to the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform requesting permission to carry out the plan.

Windhoek High Court ruling impacts Namibia-Germany genocide case

A ruling by a full bench of the Windhoek High Court has shifted the trajectory of the legal fight over the 2021 Namibia-Germany joint declaration on the 1904-08 Ovaherero and Nama genocide. 

The court has decided not to add Germany as a respondent in the case, at least for the time being.
