The Swapo Party Pioneers Movement held its second conference at Eenhana, where they were sent off with the 10 commandments urging them to hold on to the party's values.
The conference was attended by pioneers from all 14 regions, where they discussed the party's ideologies, programmes, and policies, and elected new leadership.
The conference was held under the theme "Revitalising the Flame: Instilling Principles of Service, Responsibility, and Patriotism in Pioneers".
At the opening, Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare gave them the 10 commandments in their journey of leadership.
"The first commandment is to honour and appreciate your parents; they are your first teachers of the world, who are the teachers in the past, present and future. Number two, respect your teachers apart from parents and family. The second parenting you get is that of studying and learning. This is from your teachers; they are moulding you. Listen to them. Commandment number 3: Appreciate your country."
Swapo Party Secretary General Sophia Shaningwa called on the Pioneers Movement to uphold the party's values and principles, to be a beacon of hope, and to be loyal and defenders of the party.
"You should be reminded that you are the heartbeat of our great Swapo Party, the torchbearers of our liberation struggle, and the backbone of our party. Swapo is you. Pioneers are indeed the fire that keeps the second revolution burning brightly, and therefore we celebrate their unwavering commitment to the ideals of the Namibian revolution."
She highlighted the importance of unity, discipline, hard work, and academic excellence.
Iyaloo Shiimi, the outgoing Secretary of the Swapo Party Pioneers Movement, praised the leaders for instilling discipline and shaping them into the individuals they are today.
