Cultural and visual artist Papa Shikongeni has called for urgent action to honour legendary artists who often pass away without recognition and under deplorable conditions.
He made the appeal in a tribute to reggae icon Ras Sheehama, who passed away today.
Sheehama was a legendary Namibian reggae musician, known for blending reggae with African rhythms and social messages.
Exiled during Namibia’s struggle for independence, he returned in 1990 to become one of Namibia’s most influential artists.
With hits like "Inotila" and "Cassinga", he has performed internationally and earned major awards.
