The family of the late Ras Sheehama, a renowned Namibian musician, has paid tribute to his legacy, urging people to remember him for his outstanding contributions to the country’s music industry and the Swapo Party.

Speaking at the family homestead in Onamulunga village, Omusati Region, Sheehama’s sister, Miina Sheehama, described her brother as a dedicated artist who used his music to promote the country’s liberation struggle.

The family announced that Sheehama will be buried on September 20 at his home village.

Following her late brother’s passing last Friday due to suicide, Miina said the outpouring of condolences has brought comfort to the family.

Daily gatherings are being held in Windhoek at West Valley, 44 Extension One, Pioneerspark, and in the north at the family residence in Onamulunga village.

Sheehama is survived by his wife and seven children.
