The 2025 Tsumeb Mathematics and Science Clinic has come to an end, marking the conclusion of the programme aimed at improving learners' understanding and confidence in mathematics and science subjects for grade 12 learners.
The 2025 Tsumeb Mathematics and Science Clinic was founded in 2016 and conducted in partnership with UNAM, sponsored by Sinomine Tsumeb Smelter's Sinomine Community Trust.
It aims to complement the work teachers do in mathematics and science by providing additional academic support, revision, and practical engagement.
This year, AS learners from Etosha, Oshikoto, and Tsumeb schools participated in the clinic, attending classes every Saturday since August.
The sessions were facilitated by lecturers from UNAM's José Eduardo dos Santos Campus, who guided learners through intensive mathematics and science topics designed to strengthen understanding and improve performance.
Chairperson of the Sinomine Tsumeb Community Trust, Max Johnson, said the Trust not only funded the programme but also donated teaching materials worth N$32,000 to enhance classroom delivery.
To date, a total of 2,500 learners from Oshikoto, Oshana, Omusati and Kunene benefited from the programme, of which 447 learners were from Tsumeb.
