The Ohangwena Region has emerged as a strong performer in the newly introduced Innovation category at the Mathematics and Science Awards.

About 100 learners from ten high schools across Namibia have been equipped with practical skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics – STEAM – through the ExxonMobil STEM Africa Innovation Camp 2026.

The 2025 Tsumeb Mathematics and Science Clinic has come to an end, marking the conclusion of the programme aimed at improving learners' understanding and confidence in mathematics and science subjects for grade 12 learners.

Waterberg Junior Secondary School walked away with first place in the junior and secondary levels of the Rehabeam Ujaha's Math Quiz Competition.

 In memory of one of the longest-serving mathematics teachers at Waterberg, the late Ujaha, the school held a math quiz competition in his honour.

Twenty-eight Junior Primary teachers in the Ohangwena Region received training in numeracy and ethno-mathematics.

This training was funded by Lutheran University Tacoma, Washington, through the Uukumwe Project, a collaboration between educators from Namibia and the U.S.

A new school, still to be christened and without an electricity connection or office block and further lacking teachers, opened its doors to close to four hundred learners between grades seven and nine.
