||Kharas Region has vaccinated a total of 10,330 children so far during the third round of the polio vaccination campaign running until 30 April 2026.

Senior Medical Officer Herve Sabwa told NBC News at Keetmanshoop Hospital:
“We managed to cover a total 10,330 for the whole region, so that is from the pre-campaign that ran from 22 to the 24th of last week. Yesterday we started with the actual campaign, it was launched and all the teams are on the ground as we are speaking.”

He highlighted increased outreach and community engagement as factors behind the improved coverage. Sabwa said a total of 47 teams including outreach points, fixed points, house-to-house and border teams are currently deployed.
