Swapo Women's Council has condemned the brutal murder of Petronella Sabatha, who was hacked to death with an axe inside her house in the Etambi location in Otjiwarongo this week.

The relationship between the accused and the victim is currently unclear.

A new regulation published in the Government Gazette now allows oral hygienists to operate independently from dentists. Previously, oral hygienists were required to practice under the supervision of a dentist.

The Minister of Health and Social Services, Esperance Luvindao, has reiterated the government's commitment to resolving the challenges facing the health sector. 

She said this while officiating at the inauguration of the first-ever kidney dialysis unit at Keetmanshoop District State Hospital.
