The Tsumkwe Secondary School and Tsumkwe Primary School also joined the nation in celebrating the Day of the African Child.
 

Tsumkwe leaders have called for urgent development interventions, saying that challenges such as unemployment and limited access to government services continue to affect communities in the constituency.

Health officials at the Manghetti Health Centre in the Tsumkwe Constituency say shortages of transport, medical equipment and deteriorating infrastructure are affecting the delivery of healthcare services in the area.

The Director of Health in the Otjozondjupa Region, Gebhardo Timotheus, has confirmed that a man reported missing from Tsumkwe after he was transferred to the Katutura Hospital in Windhoek died in 2019.

Timotheus said there is no record of what happened to his remains.

Delegates from the Office of the Prime Minister have started a three-day visit to the Tsumkwe Constituency.

The visit aims to engage with the traditional authority, assess community conditions, and identify key development challenges affecting residents in the constituency.

A 68-year-old mother at Baracka, a remote village located about 25 kilometres from Tsumkwe, is making a desperate plea to authorities and the public to help locate her missing son, whom she says has been missing for five years after being hospitalised.

Residents of Gauteng, a settlement in Tsumkwe, say they are forced to beg for water from neighbours as those who have connected water pipes to the communal taps allegedly refuse to share the facilities that would grant them access to water. 

The closure of the Tsumkwe Community Learning and Development Centre due to renovations has left many residents without access to library services for over a year.

The University of Namibia (UNAM) conducted a three-day capacity-building training in Tsumkwe.

The training aims to strengthen community resilience, promote sustainable livelihoods, and enhance the integration of human, animal, and environmental health.
