President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has called on Namibians to play their part in reducing the use of plastic, recycling and supporting sustainable products and practices.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has emphasised the importance of military-to-military interaction and cooperation between the Namibia Defence Force (NDF) and its sister defence forces in SADC, Africa, and beyond.

Mauritania’s candidate, Dr. Sidi Ould Tah, has been elected as President of the African Development Bank, taking over from Akinwumi Adesina.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has extended well-wishing greetings to the Christian community in Namibia and the world over in observance of Ascension Day. 

The Ascension Day is rooted in the Christian faith’s belief in the Ascension of Jesus Christ into heaven. 

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has clarified that the selection of the date 28th of May as Genocide Remembrance Day marks the gravity and compassion with which Namibians should approach the Ovaherero and Nama Genocide, committed between 1904 and 1908.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has encouraged Namibians, and genocide-affected communities in particular, to embrace Genocide Remembrance Day in full and to acknowledge its foundation as laid in the common grounds found on Namibia's Joint Declaration with Germany. 

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says Africa Day reminds citizens of the continent’s heroes and heroines, such as Kwame Nkrumah, Julius Nyerere, Sam Nujoma, and many others who founded the Organisation of African Unity in 1963, which later transformed into the African Union. 

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has appointed former Deputy Minister of Mines and Energy, Kornelia Shilunga, as Special Advisor and Head of Upstream Petroleum Unit in the Presidency.
