It is time that Africa stop talking about the future while neglecting the needs of children.
  
These were the words of Rehoboth Mayor Jacky #Khariseb during the commemoration of the Day of the African Child in Rehoboth.
  

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah wants greater investment in children, stronger protection of their rights and universal access to water, sanitation and hygiene as Namibia commemorates the Day of the African Child and the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Soweto Uprising.

Namibia has reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating violence against children, ensuring that every child grows up in a safe, protected, and supportive environment. 

Theo Katjimune Primary School held a belated celebration of the Day of the African Child, under the theme, "Planning and Budgeting for Children's Rights: Progress since 2010."
