The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has been named as the country's most admired media and entertainment brand at the Brand Africa Namibia awards held in the capital.

NBC Director General Menesia Muinjo has highlighted the need for more business-related content on the broadcaster's platforms. 

Muinjo made the remarks during a visit by the Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa Financial Journalism Training Program. 

The Director General of the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), Menesia Muinjo, has urged journalists and media practitioners to work hard to preserve the country's favourable media freedom rankings.

The One Economy Foundation held its annual Media Awards yesterday in the capital.

The awards recognise journalists and media practitioners whose reporting focuses on issues such as gender-based violence, femicide, sexual and reproductive rights, mental health, and child protection.

The One Economy Foundation hosted the third annual Media Summit in Windhoek.

The events brought together media practitioners, journalists, and healthcare professionals from across Namibia.

The protection of female journalists from harassment and violence came under the spotlight during the handover ceremony of the Windhoek Declaration Certificate of Inscription in Windhoek on Friday.

Former Wato FM Regional Manager Kosmas Muyenga described his time at the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) as inspiring, fulfilling, progressive and, to an extent, emotional. 

Muyenga retired last month after 39 years of service. 

Former Director General of the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), Ben Mulongeni, has reminded the media of its vital role in ensuring fair reporting.

Dr. Mulongeni, who reaffirmed his passion for journalism, paid a visit to NBC DG Menesia Muinjo.

First National Bank (FNB) Namibia has handed over a N$250,000 sponsorship to the Editors' Forum of Namibia in support of press freedom.

The money will be used for journalism awards.

The Editors' Forum of Namibia Journalism Awards aim to celebrate excellence in investigative reporting.
