A 33-year-old Namibian male Tuhafeni Simon has been denied bail in the Eenhana Magistrate Court.

Simon faces a charge of murder after allegedly killing his girlfriend on Tuesday night at Okongo. 

The leadership of the Oukwanyama Traditional Authority has appealed to the Minister of Justice to look into approving the establishment of three-satellite community courts at Okongo, Eenhana and Omungwelume.

The Shack Dwellers Federation of Namibia (SDFN) continues to provide decent housing to its members across the country.

150 members in Okongo, in the Ohangwena Region, became the latest beneficiaries of this scheme.

Namibia has recorded 10,800 cases of malaria and 30 deaths since January this year. The national indoor residual spraying campaign has thus been launched at Okongo in Ohangwena, one of the regions vulnerable to malaria.

In 2021, the country recorded 13,732 cases of malaria.
