Former Chief of Defence Lieutenant General (Rtd) Solomon "Jesus" Hawala was buried at the Old Ongwediva Lutheran cemetery in the Oshana Region.

The memorial service of veteran of the liberation struggle, Commander and national hero Lieutenant General (RTD) Solomon Hawala, is underway at Ohakweenyanga village in the Oshana Region. 

To address food security in the region, the Oshana Regional Council produced six tonnes of mahangu and 310 kilograms of beans from its four crop fields in four constituencies, namely Okatjali, Uukwiyuushona, Ompundja and Uuvudhiya.
