The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Science, ICT and Youth Development has concluded oversight follow-up visits to community hostels across 14 regions.

The Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Emma Theofelus, has requested that the leadership in the Kavango East Region assist in bringing ICT development closer to the people. 

ICT infrastructure and equipment provider Powercom this afternoon commissioned a total of 25 network towers: two in Omusati, four in Erongo, seven in |Khomas, two in Otjozondjupa, two each in Kavango East and West, one in  ||Kharas, one in Oshana, one in Oshikoto, and three in the Zambezi Region.

An event aimed at supporting the upcoming Mega Hackathon, under the recently launched Comprehensive Digital Strategy, gathered a range of contributions from participants, including both financial and non-monetary pledges.

Strengthening partnerships in education, agriculture, ICT, and skills development is high on the agenda for the newly accredited Heads of Mission to Namibia.

The National Council's Committee on Education, Science, ICT, and Youth Development has gained valuable insights from Rwanda's remarkable recovery from the 1994 genocide, particularly in integrating information and communication technology in education. 

The underrepresentation of women and girls in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields continues to persist despite efforts made to promote diversity and inclusion in STEM.

Information and communication technology represents an enormous opportunity to introduce significant and lasting positive change across the developing world.

Young people will once again be presented with an opportunity to explore the latest information and communication technology trends and present their latest innovations and inventions within the ICT space at this year's 7th National ICT Summit.

The Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Technology has reminded government institutions that an effective communication strategy is a key to organizations improving their strategic planning meant to advance development.
