The Kavango West Regional Council has dispatched a team to visit all council-funded projects across the region to assess their progress.

As the tour kicked off, some projects showed promising progress, with others requiring intervention from regional authorities. 

The Erongo Regional Council (ERC) hosted a symbolic handover of Constituency Development Fund materials valued at N$784,000.

The handover took place at the Erongo Regional Office in Swakopmund.

To address food security in the region, the Oshana Regional Council produced six tonnes of mahangu and 310 kilograms of beans from its four crop fields in four constituencies, namely Okatjali, Uukwiyuushona, Ompundja and Uuvudhiya.

The Erongo Regional Council is refusing to reinstate Arandis Constituency councillor, Benitha Imbamba, as Chairperson, despite a High Court order.

The Council held a special meeting at Swakopmund.

The Kavango West Regional Council has employed several strategies to promote professionalism and good governance.

The information was disclosed by Chief Regional Officer Matheus Singambwe during an interview with the MICT Kavango West regional office.

The new Kavango West Governor, Verna Sinimbo, has said the region's success is dependent on collaborations and partnerships with various stakeholders.

She said this during her welcoming and official handover ceremony at Nkurenkuru on Friday.

The National Council Chairperson, Lukas Muha, is on a visit to ||Kharas Region to sensitise the public about the legislative body's role in governance and democracy.

The Kavango West Regional Council is committed to supporting its community members through various initiatives.

Recently, the Council provided assistance to the Greater Hill vegetable gardening project in Namutuntu village in the Mpungu Constituency, which is managed by two young men.

As Namibia celebrates 34 years of independence, the Kavango West is also celebrating 10 years since it was declared an independent region. 

The election of the chairperson of the Ohangwena Regional Council Management Committee has ended in a tie.
